Treating Our Heritage with Care

When our client in Escondido contacted us for this very special project, we knew we had to put our very best team to work. The historical cottages had received a grant for a first-time install for ductless mini-splits. Pro Star assisted and collaborated with the construction teams to ensure the electrical panel was upgraded and asbestos remediation done in a timely manner. Our crew completed the six 1.5 ton installs in record time to pass inspection on the first go!

Assessment: The units were sized based on square footage. Before breaking ground on the project, we facilitated a launch meeting with the manufacturer’s tech support team and the client to go over the work flow and potential challenges. Managing expectations is a big part of communications.

First Time Right approach: After discovering that space between the walls was too constricted for the line sets, the crew quickly went to work installing the indoor units complete with line set covers. They then went under the house to complete the drain lines and communication wires.

“The Pro Star team did an extraordinary job considering the challenges of working on a historic registered property and the heat of the Summer season. In addition, part of the work was completed in a restrictive crawl space making the work that much more difficult.  The crew worked hard and efficiently from the start - installing and testing the A/C equipment. The residents of our community were very happy especially since a major heat wave arrived just days after completion of the project.”
